floral on floral

Hola..

Here's another quick OOTD for you- The sun made a slight appearance so brought out some spring/summer in my outfit.
As this is a travelling outfit, I haven't put any jewellery on (would usually go with my usual gold rings & chain). Also, would wear my leather jacket over the top.

Top: Brandy Melville
Skirt- (? ..unsure sorry! it actually belongs to my sister)
Tights- Primark
Shoes-Cherry Red Doc Martens

crazy trousers

Hola!
I put this look together for an interview- I think its a good mix of standing out, but with a slight touch of formality.. hope you like it and can take some inspiration from it :)

The trousers are from Tesco (I was just as suprised to find them in there!) and were £16. Although they're a pretty crazy print, because they're monochrome they are still easy to style and don't look TOO over the top.
The top is from H&M and was about £8. I love that it just looks like a plain black top, but then the sleeves are mesh with velvet polkadots. Its suchan effective touch, and jazzes up something that would otherwise be abit plain.
My shoes are patent, black, doc marten look-a-likes by Rocket Dog and I picked them up from TK Maxx for about £20 - a proper bargain!

I finished the look with my James Pringle 'Black Watch' tartan scarf, Dorothy Perkins faux-fur collared leather jacket, a navy bow from Claire's and my standard gold jewellery.

tartan scarf / LDN

Hello,
I have another quick OOTD for you - It was a travelling outfit as I had to come to london for a few days, very casual, simple, grungey and lacking colour - all standard for me!
My makeup is just my everyday makeup of darkened/thickened brows (using Sleek's brow kit in dark), a white/champagne eyeshadow of some sort all over the lid, with a darker (but still fairly neutral) colour on the outer third & crease, winged eyeliner, mascara & a tonal/minimalistic lipstick.
a/n. although not pictured, with this outfit I wore black patent doc marten look-a-likes from Rocket Dog, that I got for £20 from Tk Maxx (if real Docs are a little out of your price range, seriously recommend checking out these dupes..SO comfortable, and you don't have to break them in).

The black dress, is actually a large men's DKNY (possibly pyjama) top that I got for £12 from TK Maxx.

My tartan scarf is James Pringle in the 'Black Watch' tartan, that came from ebay (apologies for not knowing the price- was an xmas pressie!)

My gold chain was £12 (I think) from Topshop, and the black/gold heart necklace was £5-ish from Accessorize.

My trusty faux-fur collared leather jacket, was £50 (or so) from Dorothy Perkins.

Bows for days..

As you can probably tell from most of my posts (both on here, and my instagram -- @georgie_alicee), I'm not generally someone who pays alot of attention to my hair.. I mean, I consider brushing my hair a strenuous task.. clearly..

Anyways, here I present to you both my combat for my issues with hair care and my latest obsession and necessity-HAIR BOWS (I am genuinely excited even talking about them....)

I LOVE how they are so quick and simple yet can competely tie an outfit together; and can bring some sophistication (or just plain cute-ness) to any hair chaos. The way in which I wear them most is using the clip-in bows and I use them to hold front strands of my hair back. The hair bands that have attatched bows I use for half ups, buns and pony tails- the bow along with the different fabrics add another element to an otherwise simple look.

Topshop has an array of 'hairband bows', in different colours and fabrics, including velvet (which we all know I LOVE).
American Apparel has a large range of clip in bows, but if you don't fancy the price Claire's and Forever21 also have a good selection for a lot less!

^ Top & Middle Left, Claire's £4.50
Bottom Left (& featured right), Forever 21 £3 -ish

Tartan Skirt

Hello!!

I am a HUGE fan of tartan- I love that it is so simple to style, yet brings an effortless 'oomph' to an outfit (if you get what I mean.... )

My white sheer shirt with gold collar-tips was from Topshop, but you can get one similiar from pretty much any high street retailer.

My GEEK jumper was also from Topshop, but this could be swapped for one of a similar fashion- I think a retro band jumper would look perfect, adding to the soft-grunge/chic look.

My tartan skirt was from Brandy Melville, but one again they're available pretty much anywhere at the moment (I have definetly seen more affordable versions in both New Look and Primark). Also, play around with different coloured tartans, depending on your shoes and other garments.

I finished this look of with a pair of black patterened tights (Primark have some really cute, cheap patterened tights at the moment, and TK Maxx always have higher-end brands for a fraction of the price), and a pair of navy, patent Doc Martens, but a pair of platformed sneakers would look fab too.

I kept my makeup pretty simple, defining & darkening my brows with Sleek's Brow Kit (in dark). I used Naked2's 'Bootycall' (a whitish matte colour) all over the lid, and 'Chopper' (a shimmery browny/heathery colour) on the outer third & crease to add definition. I gave a slight winged liner and finished with a few coats of mascara. I used a light coating of Maybelline's 'Endless Ruby' lip tint, just to add a slight bit of colour onto my lips, not wanting to be too dramatic due to the already vampy-ness of the outfit.
